ABOUT ABOUT

Come One, Come All!
An All day Benefit to help our much loved and respected local resident, Dianna Bennett.

On October 11th, 2014 Dianna and her Grandson Joseph (7 years old) were in a car accident. While traveling a narrow mountain road on Napa Point in the Swan Valley, a soft shoulder pulled the vehicle off the side of the mountain and rolled it straight down 250 feet where the SUV violently rolled between 5-6 times. Dianna was thrown from the car and ended up with a shattered collar bone requiring surgery and a shoulder injury requiring ongoing treatment. Her Grandson Joseph received a severe cut to his hand requiring multiple stitches and still has trouble sleeping and riding in the car.

Dianna and Joseph somehow hiked up the side of the mountain to the road barefoot and hiked almost ½ a mile down the dirt road to where they met up with Dianna’s daughter and nephew. The whole time she dismissed her own injuries, gave her one shoe to Joseph so he had some comfort and tended to his wound and kept him calm.

You may know Dianna as the owner of the Brass Bobbin in Kalispell.  Or through her volunteer services throughout the State of Montana.  For the past 13 years Dianna has volunteered countless hours to the Veterans of Montana.  She’s a regular at the Columbia Falls Veterans home, helping with the hospitality cart which brings our Veterans comfort and joy.  She delivers holiday treats to the Veterans, spending time with each and every one of them, offering a ray of sunshine to their days.  Dianna helps coordinate the meal for the Armory’s Christmas at Our House event each year.  Dianna is also a former State Auxiliary President, former State Senior Vice President, former State Junior Vice President, former State Chaplain, former State Conductress of the VFW, she was also President of the Bigfork Post 4042 Ladies Auxiliary, as well as Treasurer, and she was District President.  In 2013 the Columbia Falls Veteran’s Home nominated Dianna for her volunteer time and service, and the Governor awarded her for all she does for Vets.  Dianna selflessly supports our Veterans, literally Paying it Forward with a smile on her face and a kind word to all.  And now we have an opportunity to help Dianna.  Please plan to attend this Benefit for Dianna Bennett!
